We’ve got big news—BlinkThermal is recognized by Texas as one of the small business innovators, helping establishing what Texas innovation impact.
What Texas Christian University Connected
Day 1 was a small business recognition and community networking event with universities from across the state. From Galveston to Lubbock, Houston to El Paso, innovators came together to celebrate the achievements of small businesses throughout Texas.
BlinkThermal was recognized for our work as a deep MedTech startup. We have been awarded DoD funding through AFWERX and are bringing our vision to fruition.

Day 2 Bridging the Knowledge
On Day 2, I had the opportunity to learn from fellow Texas-born companies that have built products for full commercialization. Many of the speakers were serial entrepreneurs who shared valuable insight into the startup journey.
There were discussions on how to get started for those new to the innovation space, as well as conversations with leaders and policymakers about how private funding really works.
The Growth of Texas Innovation
We are seeing a huge boom in growth across Texas since 2020, and it is only going to get bigger, especially with the growth of universities in Fort Worth focused on medicine, law, and business.
Though my alma mater was missing from the roster celebrating Texas innovation, we saw representatives from Rice University, the University of North Texas, the University of Texas, Texas Christian University, Southern Methodist University, Texas A&M, and more.
Satellite campuses are being built right next to each other, bringing law, medicine, and business into Fort Worth. This growth is improving access, elevating the community, and creating new opportunities for innovation. Over the next four years, we expect to see even greater growth in innovation and deep research as a result of this expansion.
This means a lot for a team like ours. BlinkThermal’s deep tech innovation was born through education at Texas Tech University, and we believe it will help shape the future of healthcare.
